Like the paintings, these site-specific sculptures document the region between Mexicali, MX and Jacumba, CA, but this time through sound. These 7 foot tall conical, steel works contain microphones that make durational 4-6 hour recordings. Embedded in the ground, their visual impact, mirroring the materiality and geometry of the wall itself, are active condensers of sensorial time. Eventually they will be reconstituted in exhibitions as speakers playing the same field recordings they captured, hopefully awaken a different reckoning and deeper understanding of our natures, desires, and outcomes within these territories.
